Social Media Goodness - DU Style

A brief post on Digital United's social meedja (sic) touch-points and a general round-up of other odds and ends DU-related.

At our core, we are a creative digital agency. Engaging ideas are at the heart of what we do and we employ the most relevant technologies and channels in which to engage clients' (YOUR) target audiences.

We believe that cultivating clients' (YOUR) business stem from a unique balance of technology, creativity and human interaction.

We are perfectly poised to help forward-thinking companies transform their businesses online in a highly creative yet strictly results-focused manner, particularly in the current challenging and unpredictable economic climate.

Around client commissions, we also like to practice that which we consult on and produce day in, day out.

Therefore, here's a quick round-up of our current *main* (excluding YouTube, LastFM, Delicious and Spotify...) social media touchpoints:

- Facebook Group: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=52526671593
The most informal of our online networking areas, where members of our team and anyone interested in DU and creativity in general can gather and have a good old chinwag. The rationale behind having a facebook group is to drive discussion (and interest of course) on what we're up to and how we go about it, with a view to garnering valuable feedback from the general public, the widest possible demograph and well away from the sectors we focus on and our Industry. We encourage constructive criticism and interesting discussion with the aim of being challenged and constantly inspired to up our game. Since *everyone* is on Facebook, we are able to publicise our community-oriented events (knowledge-share, basically, from our expert team) more widely than say on Upcoming.

- Linkedin Group: http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=1843738
"Over 35 million professionals use LinkedIn to exchange information, ideas and opportunities" so it's fair to say that it's both popular and useful when used purposefully. A full critique of the platform is a subject for another post...

- Twitter: http://twitter.com/ralff
Enough has been written about Twitter of late without me adding to the noise. We're currently in a transitional phase with it, since many members of our team have their own accounts, which are a mix of personal and professional tweets - authentic communication in other words, just the way we like it. We're evaluating various options for when our Team want to tweet as the voice of DU, @cotweet is coming out ahead as the option we'll probably implement...

 In Other News...

We're itching to launch our 'News' section, articles are primed and ready to go so, as the saying goes, stay tuned...

Next week, Dom (the lucky ...) is jetting off to San Fran for GDC  , so we're hoping for semi-regular frontline reports from this exciting conference and will keep you abreast.
